Commercial Bank & Trust of PA opened its doors for business in May 1934 at the Latrobe office of the former Peoples National Bank, a building that serves still today as the bank's main retail office and administrative headquarters.
The bank was organized with a total capitalization of $193,250. Founding directors were L.B. Berlin, Michael Charley, D.C. Cramer, Grover Hofelt, Welty B. Jobe, Philip Kuhns, L.M. Musick, James Shaffer and B.M. Watkins.

Through the years, Commercial Bank & Trust established a strong reputation for leadership in the development of a wide range of banking and financial services. Even easier access to accounts is available through the bank's TouchTone Teller service. Customers use the system to inquire about account balances, transfer funds, find out what checks have cleared and get faxes of 30-day account activity - all by phone. The ease of access continues with the bank's Online Banking and Bill Pay systems that provide an electronic bill pay service and the ability to conduct business by personal computer via the Internet.
In a continuing effort to offer customers convenient products and services, the bank has an Asset Management & Trust Division which helps clients plan for their financial futures.
Commercial Bank & Trust of PA operates a network of seven community offices with facilities in Hempfield Township, Latrobe (Downtown and Lincoln Road), Ligonier, Unity Township (Lawson Heights and Pleasant Unity) and West Newton.
